Camping trip next week

Given the latest news - all pubs and restaurants to close. Would it be irresponsible to go off on a solo camping and cycle trip somewhere quiet like Welsh borders next week? I'd be isolated other than food shops and take aways. Or should I just stay at home? Weather's looking great as well.

That sounds OK to me provided that you follow the government's guidance but check that the campsite is open first, or are you planning to camp wild? I was thinking of doing something similar later in the year, since my previous holiday plans have been scuppered.

I was planning a few days self sustained wild camping in a couple of weeks.
Trouble is I use an ebike and I normally charge it at a pub. A bit stuck now.

About & hours from empty. I imagine it would be 3/4 empty.

That's probably one of the most responsible things you could do. Totally away from everyone apart from popping into a shop occasionally.

An extra battery?

I meant 4 hours.
I don't feel like spending several hundred pounds and significant extra weight.

There'll be stuff open, petrol station for instance. You could chance it and rely on people's good nature. If not an ebike, I'd be saying absolutely. With an ebike, yes if you're happy to pedal it on empty as there's a slight risk you won't get a recharge.

I must admit that I couldn't manage a fully laden bike without assist, especially given the hilly terrain around here. Lots to think about.
How long before the over 70s are shut in anyway?

We were originally going away with the caravan tomorrow for 3 or 4 weeks. The thought of getting away has kept me going through these last weeks of a rotten winter. We aren’t going as the sites that are open are closing facilities. No shower or loo block.
Desperate I’ve thought of loading the bike up and heading off but these nights are too cold for me and I can do the odd night wild camping I do enjoy a campsite with showers.

If the camp site is open and quiet as I suspect it will be I'll go. I need a few days away for some sanity. Plus I've got some new camping equipment I need to try out - a hubba hubba tent, Trangia and anker solar charger.

I have next week off and was thinking of camping. If I do it will be for a night or two riding from home. I would be wild camping, take all the food I need, a stove and get extra water from taps in church yards. No plans of interacting with anyone else.

In Wales and Scotland there has been concern expressed at visitors turning up with the potential, if they become ill, to put pressure on local health services.
