My turbo, which hasn’t seen any use in almost three years, is now set up in the hall and a new trial subscription with Bkool started.

There are a lot more police in France than here. Good luck policing a no cycling ban in the UK.

I saw a few solo cyclists out today in Surrey and some twosomes, all obviously taking advantage of the much much quieter roads and a few cars with bikes on around the Surrey Hills.
That said Box Hill with trippers was a nightmare today no distancing happening up their the NT car parks were choker, not one taking any notice of not to congregate on mass. Seems the same occurred in the peaks National parks as well.

Ned Boulting tweeted this morning that we shouldn’t be allowed out on our bikes group or solo. Says we shouldn’t leave the house at all. I’ve long thought he’s an old woman and more convinced now or he’s got shares in Turbos.

The NT and RSPB made all their car parks and land free and advertised the fact. This weekend's scenes were obviously going to happen from that point. What were they thinking?

Given the current situation there seems to be something not in the spirit of pulling together when different interest groups say "It's not against the law so I'll keep doing it."

I’m not a virologist, but then I’m also not the one offering unqualified advice on social media...

I don't know about France - not my area.

I do know there are more more coppers of vatious sorts in Italy.

Various forces - police, carabinieri, regional police, city police, forest police, the "yellow flames".

City police in normal times in my experience seemed to do sod all - wandering the streets in pairs window shopping, sitting in cars on their phones, standing around. I was once on an organsed kind of demo bike ride in an italian city - one of the riders gave a very clear finger sign to a couple of city police enjoying the sunshine. They didn't blink an eyelid.

The Met is significantly understaffed.

The last time I saw a copper out of a (rare) car in london was in a very posh bit of town - he complimented me on my rear lighting.

So, yes, I don't see a lot of enforcement coming - i think the government is trying to gradually up the force of public pressure and persuasion. And only at the end would use police.

I stress that unlike some I am not blaming the government for its approach on this.

They have to ensure that measures don't crack.

That stretch of road has solid white lines on both sides, so all those cars are illegally parked. Hopefully the police will have given them all tickets.

I think that road needed some large agricultural machinery moving down it ;)

Solid yellow line means no parking. Solid white line simply marks edge of carriageway.

But that one's a clearway, isn't it?
