Helinox Table One - any opinions?

Rock and Run are selling the Helinox Table One for 50% off RRP, so £55 instead of £110.
Although I'm actively trying to reduce the weight and amount of kit carried on tour, I was thinking that a table might be a nice luxury on a more leisurely trip where the extra 690g doesn't matter that much.
Anybody used one and got an opinion on it? Obviously not suitable for a stove, but it's not clear to me whether it's solid and stable enough to cut vegetables etc on top.

If you are looking at one weighing 690gm, it is a mesh top :
https://helinox.eu/products/table-one?v ... 8913235022This has a mesh top.
If you did a typo, and you are looking at one weighing 960gm, it is a hard top (sounds like we are talking cars!) :
https://helinox.eu/products/table-one-h ... 8913136718which says "Our hardtop design is ingenious – folding like an accordion, it packs up small, but provides a rigid, solid surface more suitable for heavy water bottles, food prep, and delicate tableware." It looks a fabric covered top, so you'll need a plate/chopping board for veg prep.
They are both the same size.

It's the mesh tops that are on the biggest discount -
https://rockrun.com/collections/helinox if you're interested.
I use a Trangia multi-disc as a chopping board so wouldn't be cutting directly on the table, but without seeing one in the flesh it's hard to know whether the mesh is taut enough for cutting on.

You'll find at least 3 video reviews of the table covering both types of top on Youtube which will give you some idea. My impression is that the mesh top one might be OK when used alongside a chair for resting your drink or playing a card game but for effectively chopping food you'd need a chopping board and probably a third hand to hold the table steady.
BUT: in my experience there's usually a reason for such products being heavily discounted.......cynic that I am.
(Incidentally I have one of their chairs and can't really fault it, but I rarely pack it these days.)

Both types will need a cutting board for food preparation, and care not to run the knife off the edge of it.
A knife cut would be more serious on a mesh top than a hard top (which would be cosmetic, at least in the short term).
I wouldn't trust the mesh top to stand a drink on anywhere except the two central recessed cup holders. The hard top should be OK provided you don't put the drink down across the join between two slats

If it was free with free shipping I’d pass.

Won't it blow over in the slightest breeze?

Yes - highly likely to blow around unless weighted . . . . Heavily discounted and highly likely to be useless.
My Chair Zero cannot be left alone without being weighted with something. . . . . unless completely still.

I haven't tried the Helinox Table but I have used others and most were useless except for just resting a cup on. The one I have used for the last couple of years is the Cascade Wild UL Folding Table:
https://valleyandpeak.co.uk/products/ca ... AEQAvD_BwEI don't use it for cooking just resting food on drink. Must prefer to prepare food and cook on a solid floor.

I use this. It is very light, a little awkward to assemble. I bought it from Alpkit where it is marketed as the Spitta but I think ink they no longer sell it
