I’ve no doubt that some components make us faster but most improvements come from the rider.
My average between home and work is 58mph, I need some of those Halo wheels for the extra 2mph, that will shave 4 seconds off my journey, well worth it

As it is, I do own 50mm deep CF wheels, Campagnolo Bora's, they look very nice, they're very robust - so I found out on Sunday

, how much faster do they and tubs fitted to them make me, I don't know and I don't care because they look nice, match the frame and give me a pretty comfortable ride with the 27/25mm tyres, oh and I paid circa 45% of retail with a new Conti Comp fitted baksheesh.
By far the most expensive single cycling Item I've bought including some very nice bikes, the main downside is the sidewinds when you're at speed and the hedgerows open up, it's not so bad if it's reasonably constant and not silly speeds, but catch a gust and you really do feel the effects of the deep rim, had a right wobble fairly recently.
