Hello,
I have a 1970s MKM, with Mavic MA2 rims.
Currently I have tan Panaracer Pasela PT 700 X 28 tyres fitted. These were difficult to get on a couple of years ago when I bought the bike and a pain to remove this week, when I finally got a puncture.
A friend suggested that the folding version of the Pasela might be easier to fit, but I wondered whether anyone could offer advice on tyres that might be easier to fit and remove ?
The bike is used for day rides, so want something that is durable, but also possible to remove roadside in the event of a puncture !
Many thanks
Advice re tyre choice
Re: Advice re tyre choice
MA2 rims are not usually a tight fit but there was at least one batch that were slightly oversized, so it could be either the rim or the tyre that is causing the tight fit.
I'd be tempted to try a Vittoria 28mm tyre (Zaffiro Pro or Rubino pro perhaps) and see if you like the fit or not. If you use something slightly heavier duty as a rear tyre it can make for a nice setup.
cheers
