Garmin Live Track - not working

Has anyone been having any issues with garmin live track recently? Always worked perfectly for me a until the last week or two.
Haven't changed any of the settings from what they were when it was working fine. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app etc but no joy.
My garmin is still receiving text messages from my phone fine and is saying that live track is stopping at starting when it should but the link it sends out via email doesn't work.
When you click the link it just says 'location data unavailable' or 'trying to reconnect'.
As I said I've checked all the settings are the same as they where when it was working fine.
Any ideas?

I've been having issues with Livetrack on and off for years. Garmin have never managed to work the bugs out of it to a satisfactory level. Have a look at the Garmin support forums and you'll see it's a common complaint. This article also covers it:

As for the problem you're experiencing, I would suggest:
1. Get your Garmin to forget your phone and get Connect on your phone to forget your Garmin.
2. Go into app management on your phone and clear cache and data for Connect.
3. Login to Connect on the phone again, then pair Garmin and phone again - exact procedure for this depends on model of Garmin and phone.
If Livetrack still not functioning correctly, I'd repeat the steps above, with the addition of also performing a reset on your Garmin device.

I posted a couple of days ago in Does anyone know? Same problem as you.
I've reset the Garmin Edge 1000 Explore
Uninstalled and re installed Connect
Un-paired and re-paired phone and device - all to no effect
I spent 25 minutes on 'chat' with Garmin support who said it wasn't a known issue

and was asked to send them files from the garmin and give then the OK to access my connect account. To be honest I don't know if i'll be able to extract the files to send, as it's a bit beyond my IT competence level - but I will have a go. There's a suggestion that the has been a recent software update which may have caused the issue. (mentioned in the link above to my singletrack post)
If you've had any success let me know. If not it would be worth getting on to Garmin to point out there is an issue, I didn't have to wait more than a couple of minutes to get on to chat.
I'll update when there's any news, grateful if you'd do same.

Same issue here too, tried re-pairing units but still doesn't work.
It there a FOC alternative, as quite like the idea of tracking for the family whilst out.

I had an issue with my Garmin/phone connection and tried the disconnect/reconnect and uninstall etc. with no luck.
As NickJP above suggests, it was clearing the cache and data in the Connect App on the phone that cured the problem.
No idea if this will help.

Fixed the issue by reinstating the old version 4.29 as the issue seems to be with v4.30 released 28th April
