Thanks all. I'm not prepared to save any weight on my self iv too h ages trying to put on muscle my body fat is low and I'm only 73kg now I do every other day of bike and weight training. After reading all you comment iv had a think and my main goal I suppose is to just make my bike abit better, iv owned it from new (12 years) I love riding it and it all works lovely . Now I'm thinking nice set of lighter/aero wheels and a wider range on my 9 speed cassette.

To my mind the easiest way of dropping weight is the one abhorred by the younger generation.Leave that dirty great phone at home. :D
I would be thinking about wheels first. And tyres. Yes we know that the best and cheapest way is to lose weight but that no fun and a lot less noticeable. You will feel a kilo off the bike. You probably won't feel a kilo off your belly.
However OP, it is easy to spend a fortune for not a lot. A few years ago a magazine spent some time and money on seeing how much it cost to lose bike weight. I cannot remember the exact figure but it was something silly like a quid a gram or something daft. I bet that info is on the web somewhere.
None of this factors in the pleasure though. New toys are nice. It is nice to feel that you have something special. Some people feel that way about phone    My mum does about rare plants. Ignore the doom and gloom merchants once you have noted their common sense and blow some cash.
