Can anyone recommend budget priced electrolyte tablets without any sugar?
I'm just looking for electrolyte replacements, not glucose boosts.
High five zero when Lidl’s sell them. Otherwise they re expensive

Is that the version with or without caffeine?
What's the adverse effect?

Everything High Five I’ve tried gives me the runs.Their powdered drinks additives especially go through me like Mercury!
SIS,Torq,OTE etc all OK.

I'd start by looking at sorbitol.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SorbitolHow much is there in the products that cause that and the ones that don't?
And how about taking the same amount of pure sorbitol that's in the High Five products and seeing if that does the same?

Don't pay anywhere full price though - easy to find on discount.
I think it was them that I tried once on a ride. Despite it being a hot day I found the first swig so foul that I preferred to ride thirsty than drink anymore. But then I loath the taste of artificial sweeteners with a passion.
I don't often add anything to my water but, if I do, I prefer Torq stuff (enegy/electrolyte mix). Unless they've slipped since I last bought some, their flavour are natural & no sweeteners. I've also got some of their original screw top metal "single shot" containers that hold a bottle's worth of powder (I'm not sure they do them anymore) so I can carry a shot, or more, of dry powder if I feel the need.
maybe it was just that flavour you didn't like - several available.
If anything I maybe prefer to the bottle of flavoured water to the plain bottle on a tough ride, but then I also have maltodextrin in it as well so crave the energy boost.

Zero tabs here as well, but only the neutral ones as I'm not keen on the flavoured type, plus it means I can drop them into anything whether it be water or other flavoured pop etc.

The best I've ever had for relieving cramp was a bottle of German Sportbier (basically isotonic shandy).
Hard to get in the UK.

I've struggled to find a good electrolyte drink. After a lot of trial and error I use SOS Hydration. No, not SIS. It is an excellent product and it works really well for me. I'm diabetic and very careful about sugar spikes. Yes, the drink does contain a small amount of sugar but that is vital to ensure you hydrate effectively. No nasty ingredients, such as the stuff needed to make tablets fizz. It's in powder form and mixes well. It's not cheap, about 80p a stick, but it does what it says on the tin. It's flexible as well. If you want hydration use 1 stick per 500ml. If you want a tad more sugar use 2 sticks per 500ml. I like the sticks as they are easy to carry. Now available in tubs as well.

I buy little bottles of electrolyte drops. Most health food shops have them, although I just check Holland & Barratt's website & they don't seem to have them. I've also seen them at shops that sell protein mixes for athletes. I think the ones I bought int he UK were just called elctrolyte plus. or something. They don't have any flavour that I can discern.
