Depending on the design of your lever you can wedge something non damaging in the gap that opens up between the lever blade and the body when you apply the brake.

My hydraulic brake on the front of my bent trike has a cam lever built into the body.
Pull the brake on, turn the lever and it locks the brake on.

I use a friction gear lever to work the rear parking/drag brake on the bent trike.

Luck .......... :D

You lean your rear wheel against whaterver so your bike doesn't move. It's not rocket science ...

Half a wooden clothes peg in the gap between the top of the brake lever and the body.
The older I get the more I’m inclined to act my shoe size, not my age.

some folk carry an elastic band to strap round the brake lever, for exactly this purpose. I don't usually bother myself.

Big rubber band works a treat.

I've towed a trailer up and down this fair country of ours, and leaning a bike against a wall on a slope with the trailer attached doesn't work at all. You need a brake, and a big rubber band to hold the brake on, is the simple and easy way.

Highly recommended.

you can make 'rubber bands' for this purpose by cutting up an old inner tube.

[NB. If the tube isn't quite wide enough, you can cut the tube diagonally, or better yet in a lazy-S shape, so as to make a longer 'rubber band'.]

You can of course vary the width etc too, or double up if you want. If you lose or break one, no worries, you can soon make another.

Toe straps, string, or re-usable zip ties work too.

cheers
