I'm off on a long ride up to Skipton and back - leave 17th July - with Trailer in tow. It is always good to have a mirror when towing IMO, and I'll miss having one.

The good thing about the Cateye mirror you've linked, is that it can be taken off when not wanted.

I'll give it some thought ......

My daughter has the Cateye but says it is slightly loose, and needs constant adjustment if the road is a bit bumpy. Maybe she has just been unlucky with it.

I have this Busch & Muller one which I find nice and firm and hasn't given me any probs. Costs a bit more, though.

It can be a problem initially getting the tension on the fixing screw juussst right, but its better too tight than too slack.Its only very occasionally these days that need to reset it after a bumpy descent say.
One fault that I have had is that if the screw is overtensioned it can pull through the casing but its a simple job to unscrew it and put a washer on it so that it seats around the recessed hole a normal washer for a 5mm rack bolt or similar is ideal.

Not if its tightened up properly,the one in the link doesn't fit drops.

I've ordered the Cateye from Wiggle.

I have a cat eye on each of my bikes, wouldn't be without them. I have arthritis which means I'm not as flexible as I could be so they're a godsend for me.

Personally I couldn't live with the Mirrorcycle one, ergonomically unfriendly IMO.

.......... and it won't fit on Campag Ergo hoods.

I've just done a week in France with a Mirrycle and the ergonomics are excellent - it is much closer to the line of sight than a mirror on the bar ends. Of course it only works with STI shifters and you can't lean the bike up againt a wall on the side it is fitted.

Not much use to you, Mick, with no shops south of Sheffield or Manchester yet, but Edinburgh Bike Co-op will price match anything in store. (as long as it's in stock, in the UK, including delivery cost).
