Could I have some assistance please,
I have a Shimano Hollow Tech XT 770 drive system fitted with XT 11/32 cassette.Front chainring XT Tripple.
I have been told that I should be only using Shimano chains,
I have been using Sram PC 951, can you assist please ,
Am I doing the wrong thing.

As long as its the right number of "speeds" you should be fine with any reputable make of chain.

Am I the only one to find Shimano chains a bit quieter than SRAM ones? Gear changing is the same.

There may be some small difference in noise/slickness of gear change but they're all cross compatible to my knowledge, although I'm not 100% sure that campagnolo chains match the same speed to chain width. I mostly buy kmc.

Any 9s chain will work, possibly not campagnolo. Shift quality, smoothness in running and noise will vary.
(I think that SRAM chains are often a bit noisier, but this also varies with lube used too)
