If the bike work stand is the EUFAB one with the two long legs (not the tripod one), I can recommend it. I bought it online from Aldi in Germany. I have used it several times and found it good quality and stable. It packs away compactly - look at the picture on the box to see how. The tool tray fits in an inaccessible position but so what. Smear the central tube with talc so the strut slider runs freely.

PS: The Lidl Crivit workstand is one of the few Lidl or Aldi tools with which i've been disappointed. There's a threaded rod and collar drive which took me hours to fettle.

This Bikemate stand is cheap! EUFAB do one a bit similar but more expensive (better?) https://webshop.eal-vertrieb.com/Katego ... Profi.html. The one I have is more expensive still but was heavily discounted by Aldi https://webshop.eal-vertrieb.com/Katego ... Bikes.html. It all works with no fettling - except the handlebar stay where the pegs are too big for the holes in the rubber strip. I just pared the sides of the pegs to make the tops oval instead of round.

I have the Aldi bike stand - it was reduced to £12.99 last year as they didn't sell out, and I see Lidl (which put their stand up to something like £40!) also didn't sell out and has had them back a few times (at gently reducing prices).

I know the Lildl stand gets mixed reviews but the Aldi one is really excellent - especially for £12.99! It has 5 legs and is very stable, although 5 legs means you need a bit more room to put it out.

The bike "tool set in a box" is also excellent if they have it this year - much cheaper than Halfords or Decathlon and identical quality and comes with almost everything you need.

- edit - doesn't look like they're getting the bike tool set in this year, what a shame! As it was excellent. And the Aldi bike stand now costs £30 instead of the £12.99 I paid 12 months ago. Inflation

I do wonder just how good a £2 bike light is

When is GT85 going to on sale, anyone know? I use it on many things, not just my bikes and motorcycles.

I wouldn't bother going to Aldi just for GT85. You can get it for about this price from ASDA anytime (plus they have a half price offer right now, so a touch over £1 if you can find it in stock).

Toolstation also sells it all year around for slightly more.

I just bought the bib tights - and they’re going straight back! They were size Large 36-38 and though the legs and hips were broadly ok the stomach and chest were more like XXXL. And though there’s Elastane in the fabric there really isn’t much feel of stretch.
Try a pair if you like but keep the receipt!

The £30 bike stand is £9.99 in our local Aldi (Stewarton). Word is (rapidly) circulating that an error has been made in pricing.

You get what you pay for, my 65 stand is perfect after 12 years

We don’t have an Asda near us, they can’t get planning at their preferred site.

Just bought the following from ALDI.

Waterproof cycling jacket
Winter cycling gloves
Waterproof/breathable socks.

Socks are excellent; I buy them for additional insulation as much as waterproofness.

The gloves are tailored on the small size and they have a rather short cuff, so it is difficult to keep them securely tucked under the cuff of a waterproof jacket. I have medium sized hands, so I bought a large size. Still too small-should have bought XL

Jacket is good for the price, but there have been some economies over previous versions. Notably the deletion of a chest pocket. Again, I bought a size up to accommodate my chimpanzee arms.
Also, the larger sizes seem designed for excess girth, so on my matchstick frame there is a large amount of bagginess around the middle.

I'm still using an Aldi workstand I bought over 10 years ago.I've built/stripped dozens of bikes on mine, including some high end(£5k+) MTBs,Carbon Road bikes and my current Titanium Road bike that cost over £6k.
Absolutely nowt wrong with them, at least the old models, I've never understood why a few tubes and a clamp can be £100+.I've used a mates ParkTools and to be brutally honest I'd rather have my Aldi one!

All of the lights state on the packaging that they are for use with road-legal lights. You'd be unlucky to be stopped with the blinkies, but it makes me wonder if the bigger headlight would dazzle oncoming road users. Yet again, there seems no equivalent of Lidl's usual legal lights.
