Out of curiosity was the driver old younger bigger littler ? just trying to picture what you are telling.

Could you please share the make and spec if your camera? I'm thinking of buying one soon.

it is an SJ4000, I think they are fifty quid-ish on amazon (Beware of fakes for less than 20)
I have it tethered to a 10,000mah power pack and that gives about 20 hour running time (I guess I 5000mah battery would have been more sensible.
The camera has a dash cam mode so all I need do is plug it into the battery at the beginning of a ride and unplug at the end.
Has not let me down in two year (12,000 mile-ish riding.
Have been so impressed bought a second one as dash cam for car.

Here it is attached to bike, followed by three screenshots from the last time out.
obviously quality goes down as light fades.

external battery is in that spcsavers phone case and just hangs from the bars
the camera does have its own battery but that barely lasts an hour.

I have semi covered up part of the reg as I know some people get very upset if others see images of their reg plates! may be they think it contravenes their cars human-rights or something? (bonkers I know but I will play along to keep the peace)

101 and 999 have specific uses, but sometimes "bending the rules" can be appropriate

If inthis case you genuinely felt that you were in danger then 999 is entirely appropriate. No-one can genuinely question whether you felt threatened atthe time of the call
