Ten or more years ago I bought some stickers which said: "GIVE CYCLISTS ROOM!". I can't remember where they came from but maybe via CTC (moment of silence) or a cycling publication. I displayed it on my campervan and the bike and gave some to friends. Long gone now, the stickers that is. Comments about the wording were inevitable but I thought it needed to be said even then.

I had a thought about copying a Covid social distance sign. and putting a car once side and a bike the other.

It says 2 metres. Well, I want 2 metres from a car that could kill me.

I would guess that I have more chance of dying due to a car crushing me than getting Covid.

I doubt that.

About 100 cyclists die on roads in the UK every year, and only some of those are "crushed" by cars.

Probably between 0.9M and 3.5M people in the UK have been infected with the virus, and the distribution is pretty flat by age across adults, although not by region.

What I mean is if I'm hit with Covid then there's a very low chance I'll die.

If I'm hit by a car it's very high

Well it got me thinking about how little I know about the categories of deaths and injuries to people on bikes. Still reading.

Alternatively, I'm sure there are sites willing to print custom designs if someone feels able to do good artwork. I'd promote them to cycling groups I'm part of.
