We've just seen effective informal tactical voting.

I was reading (and it makes sense to me) that the bigger worry for the Conservatives is (or should be) the Labour win as it's an indicator that they are losing/have lost the "Red Wall". However I read that in what you classify as an "anti-British" publication ...
They have no one but spivs to take the place of Bokum, the kriminal klown. Is there a current member of the cabinet who is anything above incompetent, venal and self-serving? Even their "friends" have to bribe the party with a donation-wodge.Psamathe wrote: ↑24 Jun 2022, 3:24pmI was reading (and it makes sense to me) that the bigger worry for the Conservatives is (or should be) the Labour win as it's an indicator that they are losing/have lost the "Red Wall". I believe the way out of "this mess" depends on the outcome one feels best for the UK. I believe the best way out of "this mess" is for Johnson to remain in post so Conservatives will become a minority party in Westminster after the next General election (maybe not even opposition). From a Conservative perspective the clear way out of "this mess" is for Johnson to go. Conservative MPs seem to lack any ability to see the blindingly obvious.

Actually it's potentially worse for them. As I've noted on here before, the 'red wall' term is often somewhat misunderstood. It was coined by a pollster who'd noted the outlying nature of those constituencies in that at the time (summer 2019) those seats were polling as rather more labour leaning than their underlying demographics would indicate. I.e. in an MRP model as is commonly used now, they were a noticeable cluster of residual errors in the statistical model.

He's no fool - just a dangerous sociopath who's danger has been amplified by giving him the reins of UK political power. Mind, his not-foolishness consists almost entirely of a low cunning rather than the more usual mental abilities. His greatest skill seems to be in knowing how to "keep buggerin'-on" (W. Churchill - perhaps another sociopath at bottom, so to speak).Psamathe wrote: ↑25 Jun 2022, 10:28amAnd it was less than a few weeks ago he was promising Conservative MPs it would change. The man is a fool and we deserve better. Even the electorate are showing that with their votes. And Conservative MPs ... talk about turkeys voting for Christmas!

Boris Johnson planned to build a £150,000 treehouse for his son at Chequers but was stopped when police raised security concerns, it has been reported.
The prime minister and his wife, Carrie Johnson, wanted to install the structure during autumn 2020, according to a report in the Times. But they were forced to scrap the plans for the treehouse – which would have been built using expensive bulletproof glass – due to concerns it would be visible from the roadside, it has been claimed.

Alas, it is we the unfortunate residents of Blighty who are being b'd.

Alas, there is no longer a British "we", if there ever was. The class system, racialism and racism, misogyny, nationalism and a host of other differentiators apply, We also now have that of "Bokum, his spivs and their business acquaintances versus the rest of the population" to lay over the other fragmentary matrices of our pretend-nation.reohn2 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2022, 3:37pmWe are because we,or at least enough of us ,are fools for voting for being b*gg*ered.Cugel wrote: ↑25 Jun 2022, 12:36pmHe's no fool - just a dangerous sociopath who's danger has been amplified by giving him the reins of UK political power.
