When I was testing Apple's X.400 software we slipped into an extraordinarily productive pattern of work: the time difference roughly doubled the productivity and we could sleep on the problems.

Occasionally.
I find WFH pretty good tbh. I have lots of breaks and not thinking about the problem often lets my subconscious figure it out in the background.
That's the worst thing about working in an office, you're expected to work and not sleep at your desk which means come 2pm in the afternoon I'm more occupying my chair than doing any work.
(There are settees you can have 40 winks on but I'd feel weird having a lie down in the middle of the day, particularly as I like to leave at the earliest opportunity).

I have great faith in my unconscious mind's ability to provide solutions. Where we sometimes have a discussion is its propensity to tell me answers in the early hours of the morning

My own inclination is not. As soon as you post you make your comment public. The forum wouldn't otherwise work.
Is the correct answer.
Shame it does not work like real life where one simply turns away from people one does not like, usually they understand and keep away
What luck that 'most' people on the internut understand that

Thanks x2.
The whole intellectual productivity thing is so poorly understood. I hope that we can learn something from what's happened as a result of the outbreak.
That side of it has been almost total gain for my work.

PS: Very large numbers of medical images are sent from the USA to India for interpretation. As well as the lower staff costs it has that same effect of extending the working day. I once had the experience that way round as well with a systems supplier whose programmers were in India. But that wasn't as good as the experience with California for some reason... not sure why.

If only the same could be said of the politeness.
