You can definitely fit mudguards, and a pannier rack if desired. The prices for a complete bike start around £1400 upwards depending on what level of components you choose. Mine, built up (56cm frame), weighs about 10kg, but that's complete with pedals, pump, full mudguards, three bottle cages, saddlebag rack, and lights. Stripped of all those, which is how bicycle weights are normally given, it would easily be under 9kg.

I am of the understanding that I need to bed in the brakes before they will perform to their best. In just those first few miles, I would currently put them below the Campagnolo rim brakes on previous bike. Wheels are divine (Bitex/Kinlin/Sapim). I have the 60cm size as I'm 6'4" so the headtube is long - no badge which looks a little odd. I may get a decal made. Anyway, well chuffed. If anyone would like a review when I've done some proper miles, I'd be happy to. All the best. Robert.

Are pinnacle being dropped by Evans cycles since the takeover ? Just that I went to look up the Arkose bikes but there's very little left of any pinnacle bikes. Maybe that's why the one I bought was on special offer. That OK though one of the things I like about modern bikes is the fact that most have parts that are interchangeable with other bikes -- I'd love to own shares in Shimano.

Interesting, the image of the whole bike in the website does not have a head badge. Hey ho, I'll give them an email. No big deal. Thank you.
Mine has a head badge. I also have the XL frame like you. Check the seatpost fit - mine was a loose fit in the seat tube and wouldn't stay in position - I had to get an oversized seatpost (27.4mm) machined to fit.

My new endurance bike is a Vaaru GTA. Ti frame, Campag 12-speed with discs, mudguards and a dynamo. Very tidy. I’m currently trying to make sure that it weighs as much as possible by bolting my usual toys to it.
Thanks for the replies, still deciding! The reason I want it about 9kg is that is a similar weight to my current bike , I live in a pretty hilly area and my riding buddy is already much quicker up the hills than me!
If money wasn't too much of an issue is be looking at a Cannondale synapse hi mod, Carvelo R3 or canyon endurorace.
Cheers James
Edited the chap wants discs
but not cable discs -- look how many bikes with cable discs are on eBay v hydraulic... that should tell u something ... you'd be better off with rim brakes and a better group set than cable disc bike.
This is a sellers market at the moment because of covid so I would wait till nearer the spring or just keep looking for a bargain and strike fast when it arrives.
