luggage for Jogle - any recommendations?

Post by ChicheOuttaWater »

Hi
am looking at panniers / rack bags etc in preparation for JOGLE and have been recommended altura dryline panniers and rack pack but wondered if anyone has any other recommendations. (they are to go on
Marin San Rafael).

Will we need front panniers / bar bags as well?

Also can anyone advise a way to secure the panniers to the bike? (not for overnight but just make them a little harder to remove on a short stop)

Cheers
gar

I used altura skye panniers (24l) and a brabag. Might as well use a barbag not rackpack for convenience. I've now decided to limit myself to a large rackpack (and perhaps a barbag) for touring and be a bit more sporty. I have found carradice bags (super C range) a bit nicer than altura ones but no doubt someone will be along to recommend Ortleib to you as well soon.

Hi
Many thanks, will definitely look into the carradice panniers

FYI other recommendations received were:
Bar Bag - Ortleib (biggest map case)
Lockable panniers - Alluno (but can't find any UK inf and co website is in German with no supplier details).

cheers

lf you are using B & B and hostels then you should get by with a bar bag and a carradice saddlebag.
Keep it all lightweight.

Is that translation facility for use at the Northern Celtic end of Jogle, or the Cornish end? Or some of the regions in between?
