Does anyone know of a source in the UK? I'm also endeavouring to find the single sheet overview(Ubersicht) as a PDF, without much success.
Thanks

The link from the ADFC website only has a PNG or similar, but could use Print to File on your printer options to turn it in to a PDF.
Stanford's Travel Bookshop in Covent Garden have them. They have a webshop, but it may take some trawling - they have over 450 cycling maps for Germany listed.

Is it just that image that you want as a PDF? Or something with much more detail?

Exactly what I was after Jonathan. Cheers.
Just needed a general overview to determine what maps I need. Travelling down the Rhine this Autumn and the the Necker/ Main across to Furth im Wald near the border on the Czech republic. (If allowed obviously)
Thanks again

The original CTC Shop was set up in part to offer hard to get items to supply to their members; I managed the CTC Shop on a franchise basis from 2001-4 before Evans then Wiggle and one of the hard to get items we stocked was ADFC Cycling Maps! Shame the members store no longer exists and a subject that was understandably discussed at the time in this forum (
click), I get why it doesn't but it is a shame none the less; I was proud to be part off it.

If you can't get them at one of the specialists in the UK, then I've done click and collect at Press und Books before
https://pressbooks.de/de/They have branches in many main stations and airports.
But Stanfords is probably easier.

Is it the ADFC Regional Cycling maps that you are after:
https://www.fahrrad-buecher-karten.de/i ... arten.htmlThis map range is for the ADFC Regional Cycling maps in 1:50,000 and 1:75,000.
I have the overview map (the top left map on the page linked above) as a KMZ file. It can be loaded into Garmin Basecamp or Google Earth, so if you have a rough route as a gpx then you can see it overlaid on this map and see what map sheets are required.
The ADFC Regional Cycle maps are available on an Android or IOS phone using their app. The individual sheets are cheaper than buying the paper map.
You can run the Android app on your PC by using an Android Emulator such as Bluestacks and then installing the app on the emulator. I transfer map tiles from the app on Bluestacks onto my PC and then run a script that generates the .kml configuration file required to create a KMZ file. I then use the KMZ file as an overlay in Garmin Basecamp and then just print out the sections of the map that I need (including my route).
If you would like a copy of the overview map KMZ, then drop me a private message and I'll send you a link to the file on my Dropbox (15Mb). Note: The maps sheet overview is not the same as the overview in Jdsk's post, which appears to be for a different map range.
Regards
Will

i sourced mine through Amazon DE, IME both Stanfords and the Map Shop charge well over the cover price on many foreign maps. Or buy them in Germany, Thalia book shops are usually very good and if you are anywhere near Koln, a visit to the Global outdoor shop (behind C und A in the city centre) will supply your mapping needs (they usually keep the full OS Explorer range in stock!) and its worth a browse through the store anyway.
re the ADFC maps themselves - i sometimes find them difficult to use with the major roads/motorways faded out, not because i need to use them (obvs) but because i may use them as landmarks. They can also be a little inexact with regard to sights of interest etc. Oh and my biggest bugbear, they don't fit well in my map case!
Whilst i have a good number of Esterbauer (Bikeline) maps and guides for specific areas/routes my go to mapping for Germany are the Mair 200,000 doublesided pocket series - i picked up a set for the whole of Germany for @ €20 in a Thalia bookstore.
Your proposed route could be covered without using maps, the cycle routes on the Rhein/Main are well signed and accomodation/camping isn't difficult to come by even if you don't book beforehand.
Lets hope that things improve such that we can actually get away this year.

I feel I should add my own words of appreciation for the helpful staff in the Upton on Severn Map Shop already mentioned. It is a rare pleasure these days to talk to knowledgeable staff who have the time to assist. Plus there is many a bargain to be had from the £1 box near the door - I have a whole stack of German cycling maps to keep me planning for better days ahead.

Agreed. The web site is marginal but the advice and helpfulness have always been great.
And if you don't know what you want they reply to emails quickly and reliably.
