SKS Chromoplastic rebrand (or gone)?
Re: SKS Chromoplastic rebrand (or gone)?
If only they'd described them as "composite". Or "polymer", which works for banknotes.

I wouldn't mind a nice set of alluminum, full length muguards to fit a 26 x 1.75 tyre. I've not found any yet.
Kinesis, Oxford, Bontrager, Topeak...

SJS sell GB mudguards

if you like metal ones there are VO, PDW(?) and Honjos too, amongst others.
However all of these more 'boutique' brands seem to labour under the illusion that 'one each side' is a sufficiency of mudguard stays. IME, on the UKs 'roads', it is not; all such rear mudguards commonly fail at the bridge mounting, even if they are mounted reasonably well. A second set of stays on the rear mudguard is a really good idea; in their usual applications, they are invariably attached to a rear carrier in lieu of a second set of stays. On a machine with no carrier and just one set of rear stays, breakages are depressingly commonplace.
cheers

Berthouds are used on bikes designed for them, bodging them will result in a break
in a few years. Honjos (they're aluminum) are even less tolerant of poor mounting.
The thick rolled edges of the Berthouds are good at reducing road spray.
I've set of Berhtouds that are 16 years old, still solid, I did replace the clips
once.
