I am not worried about wealthy people and have never said so. I am worried about the increasing wealth gap, and the increasing poverty. And I have sufficient income so please do not accuse me of complaining. And whilst my pension is index linked, like teachers, policemen and nurses,I have never had a gratuity. You sound a bit envious of public servants. I am very content with my pension but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t care about those less well off. That is how a decent society works.

And just yesterday a group of primary healthcare practices were sold to a US company. You must have read the newspaper through rose tinted spectacles if you missed that.

But I hate that we have a government that time and again flouts the law and doesn’t give a toss. That had to be forced to provide meals for poor children in lockdown. That promised IT to children and failed to deliver.

I don't think that's a measure of things getting worse as long as there is a regulated (or better regulated) rental sector. But we have very few (possibly no?) really large private landlords.

The two largest apartment owners by far in Germany are Vonovia, with around 363,500 apartments, and Deutsche Wohnen, which owns around 163,100 apartments. Both are listed companies and operate throughout Germany. The regional focus of the Vonovia portfolio, which covers around 400 towns and cities, is on Berlin, Dresden and North Rhine-Westphalia. In the case of Deutsche Wohnen, around 71% of apartments owned are in Berlin. Based upon the census data, Vonovia and Deutsche Wohnen own approximately 10% of all rental apartments in Berlin combined. By the same measure, Vonovia owns around a quarter of all rental apartments in Kiel and approximately 15% of those in Dresden.

In comparison I think the largest private landlord companies in the UK own around 5,000 properties, but frankly if we did have huge companies like Vonovia or Deutsche Wohnen I'm sure they'd be branded capitalist leeches anyway. Then again when in Germany most people I know rented, they generally had some beef or other with their landlord....

On retirement I thought Civil Servants get a nice pension of up to half their final salary plus a lump sum gratuity of 3x of final salary which they never paid a penny towards? Perhaps things have changed...? Can we still afford this when those in the private sector can only look on with envy?
If GPs are selling off their practices they had better be stopped. The cause being the daft way they are contracted by the BMA to the NHS.

I was responding to Al saying it was increasing, not saying whether it was good or bad.

Unusually, Al, you are talking nonsense about CS pensions and shooting from the hip. I never got anything like 3 X salary lump sum and I paid into the scheme from the start apart from the first couple of years, in the 1960s. Lump sums are maximum 3 X annual pension . and pension is then reduced. Not that my pension is anything to do with you. Most final salary schemes, such as those enjoyed until very recently by teachers, bank clerks, policemen etc get a lump sum. It is the deal they have paid for: salary deferred.

GPs aren't "contracted by the BMA". Are you thinking of the way that the contract is negotiated?

Well yes...how much did the GPs get for selling out? What will be their remuneration, will it increase? How does the NHS allow this? Will this cost the NHS more or less? A crazy system.

And...why was my wife denied an MRI scan by her GP when it was discovered after a scan I paid for that her spine was collapsing with 3 fractured vertebrae and she had severe osteoporosis?

I cant, you have to register. Can you answer my questions? Was my wife denied healthcare to protect GPs salaries?

I cant, you have to register.

You can also pay.

But if you choose not to could you give me an estimate of how much you know about the 2012 Act, the purchaser-provider split and the rôle of CCGs?

I'm sorry to hear about your wife's illness.

It's ludicrous to ask me or anyone else about what happened in her particular case.

Under the GMS contract GPs in England do not pay from their income for investigations performed by the NHS.

If you know the answers perhaps you can answer the question? The essence if which is do the Gps profit from selling out? I bet my bottom dollar they do... Dont obsfuscate just state the facts...

The important thing about the NHS is that it is supposed to be cost free for British citizens.

Your previous posts suggest that you don't understand how general practice is funded in the UK. It isn't possible to explain what's just happened without that.

I suggest reading:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_and_Social_Care_Act_2012
https://www.bma.org.uk/pay-and-contracts/contracts/gp-contract/gp-contract-england-202021
https://www.kingsfund.org.uk/publications/gp-funding-and-contracts-explained
https://www.england.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/20-21-APMS-Contract-October-2020.pdf

and then asking again.

The contract with the new provider is reported as being on APMS terms. And this appears to be an unpaywalled version of the BMJ article linked above:
