Maybe we could leave a broken SA hub out overnight and see if it was mended in the morning?

He is a marvel of knowledge and I always wonder who is rather than where he is.

I looked him up and checked his posts on YACF. Number 1 post was January 16th. They just got older from there. If he's got the same username there then he's been absent from January.

Everyone needs a break I guess, helps clear the head. I don't think he ever gets phased with the odd 'run in' from what I've seen.

He's helped me out with technical stuff countless times, often when no-one else was able to. I've always found him generous of spirit - he goes to great lengths to help folks. Hope all is well with him.

Brucey is a bloody legend and that is a fact, first port of call if you need any good advice.

Just who is Brucey? Bike shop owner? Retired engineer/scientist? Inquiring minds want to know?

The guy is above forum squabbles, so I am left to guess it might be an episode of poor health.

For sure he's a sensible head, but everyone needs to step away occasionally. Let's rather hope that it's just a short break and he's well and relaxing somewhere.

I'm a trendy consumer. Just look at my VOG-L09 using hovercraft full of eels.

Or I've got the wrong end of the stick and he's gone Covid-19 compliant walkabout...

There was a chap recently (Tea Shop I think) who posted to say that he was a regular reader but was hesitant to post much because he found the general tone unfriendly. Obviously, he was told in no uncertain terms that he was wrong.

This is probably one of the friendliest forums I am a member of, some of the Ham radio sites I frequent are like a nest of vipers.

But like all forums this one is very cliquey and if your not part of the in crowd your posts will tend to be ignored or people will squabble with you for no particular reason, but that's just the nature of the internet and people in general in my experience.

Certainly a lot better than the like of Twitter or Facebook in that respect mind you :)

I've not been on the forum lately as much as I have been over the years, and to be honest, I'd not noticed his missing.
He was last on in the early hours of Friday 12th March.

I wish him well, wherever or whyever he is. He and I have disagreed once or twice about the finer details of stuff, but more often than not, he was right on the button.

Come back Brucey, please.
