Leatherman?

Bought a sort of Leatherman thingy from Lidl's last week. Cost £3 ish.
It's not very good IMHO, but what do you expect for £3 ish?
It was worth a punt perhaps.

It's put me in mind of getting similar but good quality and I'm horrified by the Leatherman prices, so there must be a reasonablly-priced alternative.

Any recommendations?

I use a Swiss Tool Spirit both when cycling and when not.

Fits my hands.
All the tools lock.
The tips of the pliers are well aligned.
210g.

But:
Legality of locking blade!
No corkscrew.

Highly Recommended.

Fan of Vitorinox. We have kitchen knives and peelers by them.

That's a Spirit X, not a Spirit.

I’ve got one from Stanley, had it a good few years and I think was then about £12. Good quality tool

I'm a trendy consumer. Just look at my wobbly bog brush using hovercraft full of eels

Cycling multi-tools have their uses and limitations but a non-cycling multi-tool seems to be of extremely limited use for cycling. Perhaps there's something to be said for listing the tasks you might have to perform like removing stones from horses hooves then planning accordingly. One unexpected task was removing the sting of the wasp that had got stuck up my nose: tweezers would have been ideal but IIRC my saviour used a tissue.

What you need is a Victorinox Camper! Okay it doesn't have pliers but who'd want everything?

My plier requirement on the bike is covered by a Leatherman Squirt P2 which has the bottle opener and blade elements whilst adding almost nothing to the bulk or weight - think i've only ever used it for the bottle opener!

I was only a click away from buying a Leatherman Wingman.
https://www.leatherman.co.uk/products/l ... less-steel
Cheaper (by 5p) than from Argos, but still £69.95.

Then ........ I thought why the heck do I want one?
I have an excellent penknife, a wonderful set of Allen Keys, a good pair of pliers and all sorts of various hand tools.
Why do I want a package opener, or a 1.5" ruler?
Bottle opener? What for?
Even the file is a tad pointless as it's so small.

Sorry guys, I've come to my senses. :D
