Can anyone tell me if this chainset would be compatible with a bottom bracket that has an axle width of 127.5mm, also my current cranks are 175mm long but the new ones are 170mm long? cheers in advance for any replies.

Errrr.....doesn't this bit mean the vendor thinks an axle 124.5 to 126mm long will fit?

.....which is a rather odd way of putting things.....a link to the site might give us a clue?

when translated into english is trying to say something like:

The 48T chainset model is suitable for a square taper bottom bracket of 124.5-126mm

(The spec doesn't say anything about the taper standard, but it is probably JIS. Your current BB is also probably JIS.)

So you're 127.5mm BB is a smidge too long and will position the chainset slightly too far out. It may, however, be absolutely fine. Possible issues are that the front mech may be unable to swing far enough out to shift to the 48T ring, and chainline may not be as good so the chain may rub on the cage/be a bit rough when running on the 48T chainring and larger sprockets.

Crank lengths are just personal preference.
