Hi

I want to replace my Brompton 2019+ folding bike crankset from the silver to black. The transmission remains the same.
1. Is changing the Brompton 2019+ crank drive exactly the same as changing other generic bicycle cranks ?
2. What is the name of the special tool which appears to be needed to undo one of the inner bolts ? Is this a universal tool too ? Any advice on tools welcome.
3. Does anyone know of any walk-thro instructions anywhere online ?

Very generic cranks, so Allen key to remove the bolts and a generic crank extractor to remove the cranks from the axle

3. When i put the new spider on - do i just place it on and, apply grease & tighten the bolt with the allen key to 30Nm ? Or - do i need to do a reverse routine with the crank extractor too ?

1 Yes

2 Presumably, there is only one way to use a crank extractor... the outer bit screws on the crank threads and the inner thing is screwed in with a spanner to press against the spindle, so that the crank is pushed off

3 Yes, you only place it on and tighten the Allen bolt... I don't think I've ever checked the torque... do it tight and it will be fine
