isnt this the right time to make the motor horn illegal?the curent outbreak every where of dangerous honking as made it completly irrelevant as a warning devise,it is only distracting drivers and causing accidents.besides continually harrasing cyclist. andcyclist should demand that television
and filmstops showing cyclist being honked at.

I agree that it's use is rarely valid but I do think it's necessary and we can't easily do away with it. I'd suffer all the aggressive beeping for the occasional times when it's used as a genuine warning and saves my bacon, and there are the friendly toots when you pull in to let an HGV pass on a narrow road.
Perhaps better regulation of and punishment for its incorrect use would be ideal, but very difficult to achieve.

I have been thinking about a reall Hitler and Goerbels horn because the children laugh so much
about my existing horn, actually a very loud one bought from the cycle shop!

If I could find one which is not too heavy but with a really loud blast, I would certainly carry it!

l saw an air horn at my local yacht chandler, manually operated one just blows in to it. Light in weight it reminded me of one of those things deaf people put into their ears to assist hearing.
