Has anyone tried Re-covering an old saddle or found someone else to do it? I have a Fizick Aliante with carbon rails which is really comfortable but the cover has worn where two different cover materials are stitched together. My wife got a great deal on it as a birthday present from the LBS, I can't afford/justify a new one and this one is fine apart from the cover.
I'm not bothered about anything too fancy, just a plain black one piece cover to replace existing one, ideally non-leather but weather proof. Open to any ideas including DIY.

Re: Saddle Re-covering
Thanks for that, think I'll try the DIY route from a quick scan of posts. Methods are what I'd imagined, sources for leather are interesting, second hand leather jackets! My wife has a few large handbags that would be good source material
Re: Saddle Re-covering
Done a few. Sometimes I remove the old cover, sometimes not. I use old leather jackets.\the inside of the lether cvan give a roúgher surfce if that suits.
Contact adhesive mostly and a few staples.Wet leather stretches well around curves.
