Some increased capacity and also more camping options looking possible this summer

Sounds good to me.

It does sound good. I hope it actually happens. I have struggled. Far too many sites are only interested in caravans, motor homes or “glamping”. And they want to charge silly prices for a tiny tent and a bike, or even a backpacker. Or they are C and C members only. Or state "No tents".
Time after time I have found this using the various search sites such as Archie's, Pitch up etc.

I know you like cycling in the Yorkshire Wolds. There's this new campsite on Pitch Up which has no electric hook up, but does at least have more than just a tap (it has three portable event toilets and woodland showers - hot and cold - and sinks). I've not stayed there, but I've met the owner. He's certainly cyclist friendly and I think the campsite is in a great location:

Thanks for this - I do indeed like the Wolds.I am not interested in hook up: this sounds great.
Thanks again

There's one next to where I'm staying at the moment, complete with a couple of portaloos.
Zero occupancy these last two weeks though, despite extensive marketing. Well, a hand-painted sign at roadside, anyway

Yes the one of my cycling route has been basically zero occupancy since the start of school holidays and long before. As someone pointed out £25 a pop for a portaloo and nothing else apart from a view is a stretch and a no go for a cycling tourist plus many others it appears.

There's a local camping and caravan club site that has been empty for years just down the road. Absolutely zero facilities but this year quite busy

The new one I linked to above charges £15 per night for a pitch. There’s no electricity to charge your gizmos, but toilets, separate sinks & wash hand basins and hot and cold showers. Is that about the going rate these days?

One recently appeared on one of my regular cycling routes and is now pretty busy (caravans, campervans and large family tents) despite being £22.50 a night for a couple of portaloos in a field.

Check out
Warm Showers, people offer free sites in their gardens because they ride themselves and it's the sort of vibe they like.
We've done it from the hosting side.
