KMC "Z" chains branded as 123 on the box in Asda. 6/7/8 speed for the outrageous price of £4.00 . No joining link included as they have a pin which needs a chain tool.
Peugeot 531 pro, Dawes Discovery Tandem, Dawes Kingpin X2, Raleigh 20 stowaway X2, 1965 Moulton deluxe, Falcon K2 MTB dropped bar tourer, Rudge Bi frame folder, Longstaff trike conversion on a Giant XTC 840, Giant Bowery, Apollo transition. :D

Here it is. Branded One23 at Asda. Looks like a KMC "Z" series chain.

worth a punt for bikes up to 8 speed?

£6.25

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144348283207 ... Swm4Rhe~oK

and free postage.

If anyone goes for I would be interested in reports back.

(I did buy a cassette from them recently but haven't yet fitted/ridden)

thanks - may check out - I do have one 8 speed bike, though already plenty of spares for it.

However the picture on Asda's website shows TAYA and a symbol resembling Saturn stamped on the links so may be they use more than one source.

Yes the ASDA link shows a TAYA chain in the picture but all the ones on sale I've seen in the Taunton store were the KMC versions so perhaps ASDA haven't updated the picture. Caveat Emptor as they say so check In store before handing your money over. Or if it comes with your grocery delivery I suppose you could always reject it if not what you were expecting.

Can't find these cheapo KMC chains at our local ASDA, and they even seemed to have disappeared from their website. I'm sure I saw them on my initial search but when I 'registered' and tried ordering a couple for 'click n collect' they disappeared!!

Anyhow, same thing here I think, a little dearer but still good value for a winter commuter: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231880818946 ... BMsKbo6tlf

edit: as an aside I've used Hopkinson cycles before and they've always been good

with regards to this and the Asda chain (if available) not being supplied with a link, but supposedly needing a pin driven through, could you use an SRAM smartlink?
