Wanted: Dawes Galaxy Cross rear mech hanger
Re: Wanted: Dawes Galaxy Cross rear mech hanger
I would suggest that the first pic shows a perfectly acceptable hanger. I agree that the fit isn't perfect but at the front it is and the screw is mostly for support as the QR holds it in place. One of mine only has one screw as intended and another only has one as the previous owner was a bit heavy handed. If the wheel goes in then all is well. If it was mine I would happily trawl the web for a new one, as I regard having only one as daft, but it will work perfectly as it is, see my wheel comment, and I would carry it as a useful spare .

Thanks, mattsccm. That is a cheering take.
The wheel is a pain to remove/replace with this hanger, but it can be done. I shall suck it and see while I research replacements.

The hanger you need is wheels manufacturing no. 133.
I've flipped your dropout to show how the cutout on the back of the hanger matches your frame.

It's also available from one of the sites linked to earlier. I actually prefer the non CNC versions. As well as being cheaper they tend to bend before they snap.

Is the CC081 the same?gregoryoftours wrote: ↑11 Jul 2021, 9:35pm It's also available from one of the sites linked to earlier. I actually prefer the non CNC versions. As well as being cheaper they tend to bend before they snap.

I'd just ordered one of those, based on suggestion of eBay seller bikeaider.
But I couldn't decide if they were the same thing.
Thank you.

Re: Wanted: Dawes Galaxy Cross rear mech hanger
They look a little different (less defined edges) because they're not cncd but I think they're the same. The black version looks like it doesn't have the spine that wraps up around the back of the dropout on other versions so may be ever so slightly less strong, but I don't really think that it will matter because that area is firmly clamped to the frame by the qr skewer as well as the mounting screws. It's still the correct hanger.

Thanks again!
Dawes support have also replied and also seem to think that this is the right hanger for the 2013/14 Cross at least.
Fingers crossed.
