Wanted: Dawes Galaxy Cross rear mech hanger

I have bought a 2nd-hand Dawes Galaxy Cross, only to discover that a new rear mech has been attached using a totally wrong, inadequate hanger.
The previous owner says this was done by his bike shop.
My LBS advise it is not safe and will break sooner or later. I would like, if possible, to find a correct replacement hanger and see if that works, rather than give up and try and get my money back.
Does anyone know where I could find a hanger, have one I could buy or have a photo of one?
Any leads or advice would be very gratefully received.
Thanks,
Jeff

I would try saint john street cycles - they got loads of different ones - it may be worth checking out any service information produced by Dawes to see if they list the drop out by a serial or product number

Yeah, they tend to say that, alot.. My usual reply is usually 'wow, thanks for that... I didn't know you have an engineering degree.'.. whether the deraileur mount will break will depend on the quality of materials used, not because it's less than an ideal shape.
To be fair it's only by comparing this mount with the one specfied by Dawes will you know if the bike shop was right.

Thanks, @cycletramp - sadly, the replacement mech hanger has been botched, using only one screw instead of two, and the wrong sort of screw at that.
It obstructs removal / replacement of the rear wheel and the mech wobbles alarmingly. It looks a massive bodge.
I will try SJS. I had a quick look at their website earlier, and have emailed Dawes support too.

It would also be useful to post a photo of the dropout without a hanger fitted.

Thanks. I'll do that too.

If you send a picture of the frame dropout and make and model of bike to this ebay supplier via ebay messaging service, they say they can try and find the correct one from their stock. Details about this at the foot of the linked advert.
No first-hand experience of, or connection to the supplier.
Good luck.

When I managed an LBS I used these people
https://gearmechhanger.com/ and
https://www.rearmechhanger.com to try and source hangers.
You could also look at
https://wheelsmfg.com/derailleur-hanger ... urers.html (Madison is the UK distributor, you'd have to buy through your LBS)

Just a warning, I used a company like this in eBay to source a hanger. What arrived, while ostensibly correct, I am am pretty sure it was a copy. It had no branding & needed filing to get it to fit. Having said that, after filing it worked ok and with a scarce hanger you may have to take what you can get.

Thanks geomannie. Warning appreciated. If only I had the original, broken, hanger, this would be a lot easier. As it is, it does seem a bit of an uphill struggle.

A photo of the dropout, as suggested by gregoryoftours.

With a careful bit of filing you could improve the fit of the existing hanger. Trimming the top of the hanger would allow it to rotate a fraction to allow your wheel axle a better fit in the dropout. You could then drill and countersink an extra attachment hole and secure it in the existing hole.
If you can't source the exact hanger required this may be the way forward. It's not a big job, just take your time and check the fit frequently.

Thank you. Another option.
