Freehub body
Freehub body
My bike shop told me I need to replace the freehub body on my DT Swiss RR 21 Dicut wheel due to damage as the gears aren't gripping on the two smallest cogs. Does anyone have this wheel type and know which specific freehub body I need to find, or else how I might find out?
Re: Freehub body
Ask on Weight Weenies forum.
Assuming you have Shimano and not Campagnolo-pattern freehub body the choice will be either star ratchet version or pawl version. As simple as that, I believe.
Saying that ... has the FHB been removed and inspected? Grease can clog up the internals. And if the teethed ring located in the hubshell is worn that will have to be replaced. Fortunately DT hubs allow this whether star ratchet version or pawl version.

I should coco.
Re: Freehub body
I have the same wheelset and it's a star ratchet drive. I have had no problems with mine and as the previous poster recommended I would give the internals a clean first. The plastic end cap pulls off then the freehub can be removed.
