Thanks, will re-tune and see if Quest HD appears. It seems to be listed for my transmitter (Rowridge) although it's not on all in the Group.

Quest - Channel 12
Quest +1 - Channel 69
(same sh1t one hour later)
Have you got an HD tv? Try rescanning your channels, it’s been amongst the HD channels for a while. I’ve only got Freeview via the Aerial, not via Satellite, though I have got a signal booster.

I have a theory that the highlights show might just be showing the last 30ish minutes of the live coverage, unedited, and with the adverts thrown on top, hence the missing sprint on Sunday.
It doesn't seem anywhere near as good as ITV coverage and they want us to pay for it? Perhaps if they take everything from ITV they'll take the production team too?

Quest has just become an advertising service for Discovery+ and Eurosport. It's deliberately bad, I think, to try to get you to subscribe to the full service.

1. Would v2v (the producers of the itv show) want to work for the former sponsors of cycling's biggest ever doping cheat, either for that or other reasons?
2. I've seen so many people saying that they've subscribed to Eurosport, GGN or discovery+ because the Quest highlights are so bad that I have to think duff highlights are a successful tactic for them. I'm not sure whether that's intentional but I do wonder if Quest/discovery bothered taking any corrective action after the farce of the Giro highlights earlier this year.

One of Discovery's original ideas for their pan-European coverage was a video track with no presentation and then a number of associated audio tracks. It relies on your receiver to choose the correct one.

Funny you should say that because I started watching the highlights of Stage 2 and, having been able to watch it live in the afternoon, I instantly recognised the footage and the commentary I'd already seen and didn't think much of so didn't go any further.

It’s complete garbage and killing the race for me. The commentary is just awful. They have no sense of Spain. I’ve been editing the highlights myself to a 10 minute skim through.

I agree. They could be racing anywhere. It is a great shame as it is a favourite of mine having come across it on a few occasions whilst touring there. Once I camped just behind the podium and another day I stopped for lunch where the VacanceSoleil team (it was awhile ago!!) was staying that night. One of the mechanics showed me their mobile workshop and gave me a bidon.

There are now hundreds of telly channels so the programme materials are thinly spread. We've moved from a time when we were lucky to have any cycling on the box and thirty minutes (minus adverts) on Channel Four was such a blessing that Jeremy Isaacs was given an award by the CTC, to a time when there's loads of available airtime but little money to pay for programming. Hence, endless ads and poor production standards.

I hesitate to say it because of encouraging the death of linear TV and all that, but Lanterne Rouge's 10ish minute highlights on youtube are pretty good, including far better analysis than the GCN sofa show. Don't let his oft-monotone deter you!
