Who made this?

Post by mikeS »

I bought this chromed fork, or forks, the other day and I'd like to know who is the maker.
Does anyone recognise the logo?
While I'm here, a dinner fork or a fork in the road are counted as singlar, but a bicycle is usually described as having 'forks', pleural.
For a cycle,which is correct?

One fork at the front, which often has two blades. (Hello, fellow Burrows fans!)

Apparently there is a usage of rear fork, but not by me.

I have always talked about a bicycle having "forks" at the front.

Thanks all for the info.
Logically, Jdsk's 'fork' is correct I believe, but illogically I, like drossall also find myself referring to 'forks'.

Trousers come in pairs too.
It's the same the whole world over
It's the poor what gets the blame
It's the rich what gets the pleasure
Isn't it a blooming shame?

I do refer to "forks", meaning just the thing at the front, but it should really be "fork". A fork has at least two branches or tines to make it a fork, "blades" in the case of a bike fork. A fork that you eat with has three or four tines, but still remains a fork in the singular. Likewise a garden fork is singular.

Spa think this way too:
