I prefer the way the Dutch pronounce 'Gazelle' to the way we pronounce it, btw: either 'Chàzell-e' or 'Hàzell-e', depending on the dialect, with the 'ch' as in 'loch' or 'och' and the 'e' as in Porsche*....
I got talking to a Dutchman with his cycling family at Formby yesterday, and asked him how he pronounced 'Gazelle', I think he said the second version, hard to say. Does the accent on the 'a' in your Gazelle example give the guttural 'throat clearing' sound heard in the Dutch language ?
I should perhaps have asked him to pronounce the name of his bike -'Johnny Loco', I imagine it might have sounded a bit Geordie like, Honny Lewko ?

Talking of unusual attachments, I don't recall noticing a cross-bar (top-tube !) mounted child's seat since when I was a kid, they were quite a commonly fitted accessory way back then (1950's-60's).

They're not common, probably because there are various other ways of carrying kids, but they are still seen and can be bought. Here's a recent review of some: https://www.cyclesprog.co.uk/carrying-k ... -children/

The Velocipedium connected the post up to a cable and reckoned it gave about 150mm of travel, he thought perhaps a dropper post of some sort for somebody with mounting issues.
In this video at 26min 47seconds in, he's removed it from the bike, the post is available if anyone could find a use for it .
