Not a job with a lot of appeal,my SinL is an HGV driver(not long distance trunking),the pay is IMHO nowhere near what the job's worth and for trunking it was upto recently appalling the conditions still are.
HGV drivers in the UK have been treated badly and not given the respect they seserve for many a long year,I'm glad they're slowly getting the clout to demand decent pay for what is a very responsible,very skilled and which can be a very dangerous job of work.
I've only read it once so far. There's a lot of useful information on what has happened recently and some interesting ideas on what needs to happen next.

I almost lost the will to live
However what was as clear as day was that the government were so far doing little to nothing for the industry other than attempting to make the job more dangerous than needs be by relaxing driver hours retrictions and training qualification standards.And are also dragging their feet on driver facilities.
Another case of government doing sweet FA for the industry and as a result the country's needs.
Depressing doesn't begin to describe it's reaction to the problem.

Whilst that.may be the case in some industries,there are some jobs UK people just don't want to work in and now with full employment they don't have to. That leaves a hole that needs filling with labour now!
It's not as if the government(well one with any foresight at least)couldn't see this coming a long way off,they just didn't care to think their stupid no deal brexit might might backfire on us all!

Only if you want to maintain farming and create wealth in the UK, avoid foodstuffs going to waste, and avoid having to import food that we used to produce ourselves.
If you have a different definition of success then it's all going fine.
