Nothing like judging someone who happens to like a smoke, smoking isn't something I do myself but I don't go around judging people's charachter because they do.
Quite. But I make no apology. I was exposed to plenty of passive smoke before the law changed.

I believe she was outside smoking at the time.

Her heart-felt 'criticism' is exactly the same as the thoughts I've had in private and in public, on many an occasion, when faced with the lastest antics, hypocrisy and venal bloodsucking that's the norm for many members of the Tory party. I can get away with it 'cos I'm a nobody. Unfortunately, there are rules that are best stuck to, up there in the rareified atmosphere of public party politics and, with a little help from a glass or two, they got broke... wouldn't be the first or the last time - it was the Romans who coined the phrase, "in vino veritas".

Were I a gambling man I'd wager many, many people would have the same thoughts as your good self after the past decade of Tory rule but far more after the past two years of utter lunacy and lies!

Her comments were true about Boris and she's right not to apologise.
Could she, or should she have used different language? Maybe but I suspect she's struck a chord with many who feel the same about this slimy PM.
Now if only Starmer could inject some of this fire into his veins we may be getting somewhere in ousting this corrupt government.

My favourite smoking example is to flag up the M.P./P.M. who was the inspiration for the naming of a pub in Knowsley village, Lancashire, the "Pipe and Gannex". Yep, Harold Wilson M.P. for Huyton.
The pipe was his prop to show he was a chap cut from working class stock, but that was all it was, smoke & mirrors! He always smoked sizable cigars when not in the public gaze.
Now it the foul mouthed Labour Deputy Leader instead smoke Romeo et Juliet she would show up as Bohemian and a real individual.
Image is all for such folk, after all who ever saw Winnie with a Woodbine?
The only other M.P. who was as louche as AR was the member for West Lancashire, the regular floor-crosser, now she was an odious person! MM

Why should Starmer descend to such language as Johnson and Rayner employ?
He is scum, mind you.

Actually, I thought 'scum' was the word used in a certain tabloid to refer to us cyclists...

It is/was but that was a wrong misuse of the word, where it's used in respect of the Tories is a perfectly correct use of the word

Was it any different under labour?
We all know that politics is a very emotional subject.
I still say that because of the friction of hard left and unions in the labour party which Starmer is coming up against.
Why not start a new party?
If he doesn't do this if somebody doesn't do this I feel very quickly Starmer will be replaced.

Nye called the Tories "lower than vermin" after they had fought for several years against the establishment of the NHS.
Angela Rayner is no doubt provoked by the cuts to the income of the poorest which will put large numbers of children into poverty, harming their chances in life.
