A little bit of HELP please

Intending to cycle from Lancashire to Bristol - with an 11 yr old - and looking for the most pleasant and traffic-free trip - any suggestions?!!!

Have a look at the sustrans website, www.sustrans.org and especially at route 45 which from memory is something like cheshire to avonmouth. Sadly their website is harder to navigate than the routes are but persevere it's in there somewhere!

Yes I've recently cycled from Reading to Bristol, and from Bristol to Padstow using Sustrans, the routes are very good, and generaly well signposted, though the routes are not always the most direct, eg Bristol to Padstow is something like 170 miles by road, I think I cycled over 250 along the Sustrans route - very enjoyable though if you have the time.
