I discovered that a saddle with a more flat surface helped a fair bit. It seems the very rounded top of the Selle Turbo I'm used to was letting my sit bones sink too low and thus put too much pressure on the undercarriage. I've also since invested in some proper kit for the first time - including a pair of bib shorts, and found that they tend to do a good job of keeping the boys out of harms way.

Ah yes, the ability of well cut shorts to help contain and protect your 'equipment' is oft overlooked! Don't forget to wash them regularly, between rides is ideal but certainly not more than a couple, I trust you are wearing them commando as designed for, dirty pads can cause all sorts of nastiness - this is a family forum so i'll leave what to your imagination but it ain't nice!

I've never been a great fan of the 'Turbo' range of saddles, for me they are too soft which might be manageable for say an hour but i've always favoured a flatter palmate shape, my good bike runs this bit of silliness, its a Selle Italia SLR Ti S1 which i find good for 200+km day rides despite or perhaps because of its lack of padding! It looks quite narrow but my sit bones are well supported and the flat top reduces pressure 'in other places', nudge, nudge, wink, wink! Of course the Carbon base and Ti rails help and it weighs nothing, well 145g, but all the fancy comes at a price, i didn't get a lot of change out of 200 notes. OTOH the similar but less exotic saddles on the other bikes were had for @ thirty sovs. Once you've identified the saddle for you,and bought it, take pics so if you need another for any reason you can see and show others what you want/need.

Enjoy your riding
