Stena do charge for bicycles between Northern Ireland and the UK mainland: currently 10 to 12 pounds.

I'll draw the attention of the author to this thread again.
Any more corrections or suggestions, anyone?
Thanks

Europe 2022, when you got nearly €1:20 to the £.

Re: Europe 2022
I remember 2002 when Euro notes & coins first came into circulation, and the exchange rate was €1.60 to the pound. Went InterRailing that year and lived like kings!
Re: Europe 2022
Yes but we might have to mention the B word to explain a major part of the drop.
Re: Europe 2022
Maybe so, but currencies fluctuate for lots of reasons. After the 2008 financial crisis the euro was at parity to sterling for a while then. It was only at €1.14 in 2012, long before the "B word".
Markets react to things and then correct themselves. The €1.60 that I mentioned was when the euro tanked straight after it was (physically) introduced. Then it strengthened. I'm not going to try to predict what is going to happen to sterling, all I'm getting at is that how things are now isn't necessarily how they are going to be forever.
Now back on topic. What's the long range weather forecast for Belgium in mid-October?

Comments on the introduction of EES from the Chief Executive of the Port of Dover:

"However, the port does not yet know what technology will be used and therefore exactly how long the process will take."
It's due to be implemented in May.

Re: Europe 2022
Belgium is like Scotland: ALWAYS expect rain at any time.
Re: Europe 2022
Having done (Southern) scotland last October, and just back from Belgium/Holland, I concur!
But Belgium was a lot warmer between the showers.
(I've also had a couple of bone dry July trips to northern Scotland, 2015-ish. They were colder than Belgium in September.)
Re: Europe 2022
There's been some scepticism that governments are actually counting days spent in the EU.
"British business travellers are being turned back from European countries for going against post-Brexit movement restrictions that will be applied more rigorously once the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) is introduced in November next year."
