Has all the cycling world no sense of humour? I ride a bike, a motorbike and drive, and I laugh a lot, at myself sometimes; especially if I look in the mirror wearing cycle shorts. It's only fun.....

Well said Lagonda. The accusation: "aint yer got no sense of humour" is, of course, the perennial riposte of the schoolyard bully. Clarkson to a tee.

Agree with CJ and Lagonda. Personally I don't really think this is a matter of humour. It's about Clarkson saying he will run cyclists down for fun, and taking an extremely damaging attitude to the environment. He clainms he thinks the environment can "look after itself" and that we should enjoy it. The environment can look after itself very well, and has done so for millenia. Unfortunately people like him churning up environmentally sensitive areas in 4 wheel drives and churning out extortionate quantities of CO2 from unecessarily powerful cars overwhelms the environments ability to look after itself. And many of the adverse effects will be borne by developing countries that didn't create the problem and can't afford to adapt. To disregard the environment in the way he does I consider to be an absolute disregard for humanity.

The odd comment about cycle shorts is one thing but it's no joke when a driver behaves aggressively and dangerously towards you, it's just very unpleasant and life threatening.
