After a puncture on the DF/2 wheels yesterday where you can lay the bike on its side, thinking about a puncture on the rear of my tadpole recumbent with rear derailleur, you can't remove the wheel and lay the trike on it's side, and that means propping up the rear or resting it on the rear derailleur (lowest point - not good)!
I can't think of anything I carry to prop-up the rear (I do have some stront line if there is a convenient overhanging low branch).
What do people do on the road when having to remove the rear wheel e.g. puncture to avoid resting on rear derailleur?

Re: Removing Rear Wheel On-the-Road on Tadople Recumbent (e.g. rear puncture)
How about a two legged V shaped Esge prop stand
Re: Removing Rear Wheel On-the-Road on Tadople Recumbent (e.g. rear puncture)
I use a handy bit of wood, a rock, or whatever else presents itself. Punctures on a two wheel bent are rather more awkward.

1) tip it on it's side (the one without the mirror )
2) carry a block of stiff foam packaging (weighs very little) as a prop
3) use a self-sealing tube...

As i tip it onto it's side when fixing a front wheel puncture, I also do so with a back.
I tip it onto it's left hand side once the QR is undone.
It will happily balance there while I take the wheel out and with the chain uppermost it's easily seen/moved when feeding the wheel back in.
I then tip it onto it's right hand side so I can easily see the disk brake to slot that home.
Once every things in place, stand it up and finish with doing the QR up.
Just be careful of your mirrors when it is on it's side.
My right hand side mirror touches the ground when tipped that way and I have managed to crack one in he past ......
Luck ..........

You can sometimes hang them with a strap or belt from a railing or similar.

I get the chauffeur to come in the RR to fix it, if she's busy doing something else I stand the rear end on the saddle pack when the wheels out.
Re: Removing Rear Wheel On-the-Road on Tadople Recumbent (e.g. rear puncture)
I've got two offcuts of plastic downpipe. One's cut so that it props up the rear wheel of the ICE trike if fitted under the frame tubing near the hinge joint. Wheel removal is made easier this way. It's also handy if trying to turn the pedals and change gears etc.
The other is longer.in order to help when replacing the wheel. Because it's carrying a hub motor it's heavy and I turn the trike right over and prop it up on the cross piece of the frame, supported near one wheel by the pvc tubing and near the other wheel by the already existing strong vertical support/assist bar permanently fixed to the frame.
The tubes are carried in a pannier.
This way, gravity is assisting instead of making life impossible.
If you want photos I could take them.
Cheers

Try a Gaadi tube to see if it works for you.
