Mystery £100 payment

Post by Mick F »

Just checking our current account online, and I see a £100 credit without any clue to what it is.
Already had our Winter Fuel Payment of £200 late last year.

I see by Googling, that in Wales they are receiving £100 for support for rising fuel bills, but I can't see anything about England.

Wot's goin' on?

Wales: "Winter fuel support scheme", updated 1 February 2022:

Are you asking why it's different between the countries of the UK?

Thanks

Actually, it's funny you should be asking this.
Mrs Mick F paid for the TVL in mid/late April, but they've sent her a reminder that it needs to be renewed on 31st March.
She's off and away on March 1st for two full months, and I DO NOT WANT the telly at all.
Therefore, she's going to get in touch with them to cancel the TVL and maybe start up again for 1st May after she gets back.

As for this mystery £100, it seems that Scotland get it and Wales too, but I cannot find anything at all about England.
What am I missing here?

Why are you assuming that there is a figure of £100 that applies to England? It's different in the different countries.

It ends in PB
Could it be Premium Bond?

It's certainly too long for a frame number, even on a Mercian. I note that PB is preceded by NS, which might = National Savings

Brilliant!
Well done!

Because you mentioned it, it's reminded me that we'd had £100 worth of Premium Bonds for years and years and years, and nothing won at all. So, we cashed it in!

That was weeks and weeks ago, and I'd completely forgotten about it.
Thank you muchly! :D

Mystery solved.
