Service time.

Post by Marcus Aurelius »

The weather is about to turn extremely nasty, so I’ve decided to use the time to service my bikes, ready for the better weather days that I’m sure are coming. I’ve started with the Bianchi. I’ve not given it a proper service since I’ve had it ( about 2 years now ). I’ve given it a proper strip inspect sort anything out that needs it. Having stripped it down, I’m amazed how well engineered and built everything is. It’s a 2020 Bianchi Oltre XR4, with the 12 speed Campag EPS disc groupset. The only potential issue I’ve found is a sheared 20mm M4 bolt that secures the rear mech hanger to the frame. Even that came out with no fuss, by turning the exposed bit of bolt with pliers. I’m amazed at the lack of wear on anything else. A properly solid machine is this.
