Then I got COVID (tested +ve on 27th). After completing my isolation and testing -ve on 2nd Jan, since then I've been out a few times and felt I'd had enough after 15 miles. :(

Is this a symptom of Long COVID or did I lose all my fitness in just 10 days?
I,m sorry to hear about your recovery problems.I ride with a couple of guys who had covid mid march and we did 50mls and 1200mtrs climbing last thurs ,all riding normal speed. We are all 70+ so the suspicion must be you may have long covid.
Hi, just got back from a couple of months touring Europe in our motorhome and done quite a few rides and I think I may be getting back to normal now.

Half way through the year (6 months gone):
Despite a few "disruptions" I still seem to be ahead of the 10 miles per day. Currently on 12.6 miles per day (but still higher numbers of shorter rides). One really nice aspect towards to 10 target is that for the remainder of the year I now only need to do 7.44 miles per day to get overall to 10. Makes the target seem achievable.

I’m at 1,718 miles and 113,373 feet of ascent. So 92 miles down, largely because I’ve recommenced running three days a week as well as cycling.

I'm behind where i'd like to be but i'm still on course to get a good year's total. So far i'm on 7248 km / 4503 miles for the year, thats 40km / 24.8 miles a day up to now and already 20km / 12.4 miles a day if i don't turn another pedal. My 57,720m / 189370 feet of climbing is a bit low too but its a struggle to find metres on the Somerset Levels!

My target is still 16.1k km / 10k miles for the year so i need to get my finger out!

Avg ride 73 ride days ytd is 99km / 61.5 miles with 790m / 2592 feet of up, so @ 8m/km / 42ft/mile of ascent
Convention? what's that then?

5149 miles by June 30th so on course for 10,000 miles again by the end of the year. Then again very few miles in the last week due to family holiday and there seems to be a lengthy heat wave forecast here and I hate hot weather!

After doing 10 a day last year, I am so far averaging a paltry 5.23. However, having married at the end of march, we went on a 10-week European Motorhome honeymoon trip where the opportunities for cycling were limited. Since we got back a month ago my average has gone up from about 4.3 miles a day.

Very impressive but you've got a long way to go to challenge Tommy Godwin's record https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-s ... e-17730428

Thanks. I'm definitely not in the same league as Tommy Godwin, I just potter along enjoying the countryside. There is a very good book by Dave Barter 'The Year' describing all the attempts on the annual mileage record.

Well i regained a little of my target arrears through July but i never really got enthused enough for any properly long rides, maybe this month?

I did do 15 ride days for 1447km and 11664m of climbing, not bad i guess what with the heat wave and bike issues which have restricted me to mostly tarmac riding - i do like to mix in some unsurfaced stuff especially in the summer. Hopefully i'll have the Airnimal back on the road next week. I'm on 41.5km projected for the year based on the 8879km i've amassed so far on my 90 ride days.

How are the rest of you diddling?

Hi,
My records are not up to date at the mo.
But probably about a shade under 11 miles a day.
On Foxy's calculations on his 25 kph he is doing 1 hour 40 minutes a day? , I am on about 1 hour 20 minutes a day :P .

Last night my peak HR was above 95% of my max, and average over 3 hours (no stops) Was 79% :)

But Still feel like a slug :(

I hit my 10 miles per day today. Trouble is family issues have me in a really bad mood so not feeling like celebrating (maybe later).

4404 miles until end of Aug, so I can I have the rest of the year off? drink beer, watch football, get fat - sounds quite tempting....

sadly not though, about to head out for another 3 hours on the road - its too warm, not looking forward to it :(
