just wondered how long cycling kit ie clothes - lasts before it becomes too worn for use

for instance the padding in shorts or cycling gloves

ive been using the same set of cycling shorts for the past 3years...and the padding doesnt seem to sit too well anymore...

yet my two cycling shirts are still good as ever!

my gloves seem to be holding out well too after about 3-4years hard use

Been wearing my black alpaca jacket every day since 1936, still as good as new. Never been washed either.

Shorts wear out because they are in contact with the saddle and are constantly being stretched by the pedalling motion. Tops don't wear out.
