London sunrise - beautiful or not?

Today was a beautiful sunrise. I typical breakfast TV style they wanted to show this. So they put up a photograph of the London skyline with the sum coming up. Beautiful sun and sky but let's be honest here, unless you've got the obvious buildings in the skyline London is a dump!

Every city has its beauty and beautiful buildings but a sunrise photo without any of them in it or visible to anyone but the most observant londonderry isn't beautiful.

Does anyone else think that there are some truths to beautiful views and one is a tangled, mess of ugly tower blocks is ugly even with nature in the form of sunrise lighting up the sky trying it's best? Am I alone here? What's your views.

PS BBC breakfast, between 6 and 615 I think it was shown. I'm sure they could have got something better to show the sunrise.

Heres a Thames sunset view from the riverside balcony of brother in laws flat. A bit of evening beauty unsullied by speeding catamarans, helicopters and aircraft landing at City airport...
