Does anyone actually manufacture their own carbon frames.
The answer is yes, Giant and Trek make carbon frames. Is it too much to hope that my point that saying "when all said and done the frame is a litespeed" is a little funny hasn't entirely escaped your notice?
Ten-Tech are supposed to be the best OEM for Carbon frames but unfortunately the industry likes to keep things opaque so no idea who makes the frames for litespeed but I'm sure some (other) geek on some forum knows.
My statement was just that, not a question but I see why there's confusion. The written word often comes across differently to the spoken version.
I know Giant make their own and probably also make frames/forks for others. It's well known that the Giant factory was also one of the largest producers of Alluminium frames for itself and many other brands so it makes sense they would also make carbon for others.
If you read the reviews of the above frame from time of release Litespeed state that the frame was made after 2 years of developement.Of course this could just be blurb but my 'when all's said and done it's a Litespeed' was based purely on the fact that Litespeed are not a massive player in the industry like Giant/Specialized/Trek/Cannondale etc.Their reputation has been built on the quality of their Titanium frames, which incidentally have used Carbon forks for many years,so I would naturally assume they would not try to pass off any old rubbish as one of their own whether Titanium or Carbon.
So whether it's their own or not Litespeed have put their name and reputation on it so it is a 'Litespeed' and I believe my statement is therefore valid and not funny in the slightest.
You are,of course, entitled to your own opinion on the matter!
