Pressing the engine stop is not illegal as far as I know - and I have a class D bus licence

I'm not suggesting it's illegal for anybody to press it for the purpose it was intended. I'm sure that as a cycling bus driver, you do not end up with many angry cyclists behind your bus wanting to press your button. I imagine you're the sort of chap who, on a windy day, might even let a cyclist tuck in behind for some welcome shelter on your wheel.
But, if ever you did have somebody awkward doing this - not necessarily a cyclist, possibly just somebody with a misplaced sense of humour - and preventing progress and if you ended up calling the police, I think that tampering with a motor vehicle might be a starting point to justify getting some nuisance's belly up against the charge office counter.
