Frame number

Post by Tom »

I have just purchased a cube hybrid 500 Pro 2022 ,and having difficulty in finding the frame number for my files ,it is said that it is on the seat tube just below the chain stay. I can't see it,

I don't know but if you edit the thread title to include cube hybrid 500 Pro 2022 it might attract the attention of somebody who does.

On most bikes (all bikes?) the chainstays meet the bottom bracket below the seat tube so I'd have thought the location you quote did not exist although I suppose it might be a very unusual way of saying "under the bottom bracket" for a translating app.

The usual place for frame numbers is the bottom bracket, rear dropout, or seat lug. It's not likely to be on a tube, as stamping it would tend to dent/flatten the tube.

The main point I was trying to make is that before your thread slips away into obscurity, you need to attract the attention of somebody who knows the answer to your query.

"Frame number" on its own means little because it might mean so much. Frame number queries are often about trying to discover the history of old frames and a bit like trainspotting, there are marque enthusiasts.

My advice is to return to your opening post and click on the "edit post" icon which looks like a pencil in the top right hand corner (in the settings I use) and then include cube hybrid 500 Pro 2022 in the subject line which will have the best chance of attracting the attention of somebody who can help
